okay feeling a little better for quite possibly the stupidest reason ever.

critical reading: 770
math: 780
writing: 800

okay now i feel incredibly stupid for getting juiced about things as trivial as standardized test scores. not to mention really fucking vain for actually posting this. whatever.

haha. vassar is a hell of good school though! i'm actually here right now so i can't diss it when i'm using one of their computers. but in all truth i really really really love it! if it weren't for the fact that the winters are crappy here it could beat out pomona. (in some sense it is better because it has no core curriculum and no freshmen dorms and doesn't seem as preppy). the fo-fo got something right i guess.

aww yay thats good! winters wouldnt be that bad as long as its not like Boston U, where you have to walk a fucking mile to get anywhere. the fo-fo! i love it!

dont feel bad posting your score

I sure did :]

good job! Was this your first time? if so, retake it. For sure. You will almost certainly get a high math score (well it sounds like you will from what you say) and most school take your best combined score.
jess_is_here at 2005-04-11 19:38 (UTC) (Link)
i took the old ones once and got 780 math (one wrong, kind of frustrating). i'll probably take them again just to see how i can do on more sleep (i got like four hours before this test) and maybe some prep, but it's good to have the stress taken off.

my thoughts exactly.

you know you don't have to take it again, right? or rather, that you shouldn't? i get what you're saying about sleep and preparation, but the odds of doing better than that are sadly rather low. i mean, i got a 1490 (this is on the old 1600 system, of course. i'm such a dinosaur.) and found out that the odds of my scoring higher were simply not good enough for it to be worth it. like you, i didn't prepare or sleep all that fantasically, but 1490 was good enough for me because of my GPA and hot bod (very big factor in college admissions, let me tell you!). and you've got those, too. congratulations, you're done with the SAT. and you're going to get into stellar colleges. vassar, for instance, is going to drool all over you. oh, and the merit money you'll get! as my college apps career comes to a close, the beginning of yours brings a smile to my face.
jess_is_here at 2005-04-12 04:25 (UTC) (Link)
yeah, even if i beat the odds score a few points higher, i don't think that putting myself through the pain of a four hour test at 8am on a saturday morning will be worth it.
a smile to your face? i don't know...i guess the whole college idea can be exciting, but the stress that comes along with applying will be no fun. and if the crazy little parallels i always seem to be finding between our lives/thoughts are in anyway indicative of what the coming year will be like for me, then i know i have some stressing. but also some good news!!

okay, i dont know if that made sense. in short: congrats, once again, on all of your acceptance letters, and good luck on choosing a school! i'm sure you will be happy wherever you go!
