what made me feel so horribly nerdy about this, beyond getting it, was then getting upset because if you read the last part as literally as you do the first, then santa is saying "water water water," and that's not right, dammit.

and then i spent five minutes trying to remember my chemistry so that i could find a good way of haying "ho ho ho" without the 2's. because OH- doesn't do it, either. that could actually have somewhat risque connotations.

haha. that bothered me a little bit too. i guess it has something to do with the snow being ice (H2O) and H2O looking quite a bit like "Ho, Ho, Ho" upon first glance. Maybe it is implying that santa's "ho, ho, ho"'s are infact not "ho"'s at all, but rather his observations of frozen H2O falling from the sky. As he sees it he exclaims "H2O, H2O, H2O!!" in excitement, but says it so rapidly that all we hear is "Ho, Ho, Ho".
Now the real question is: are comics really supposed to analyzed to such an extent? Maybe we are just supposed to accept the fact that it doesn't make 100% sense, but oh well!
