Reasons today sucked:
-well, the obvious reason of course was the outcome of the election. gloomy moods abounded. living in a place as liberal as the bay area, i just find it almost impossible to believe that over half the people in our country would actually want bush to be our president for another four years. i guess i kind of lose sight of how misrepresentative (if that is a word) my little microcosm is of the rest of the country. however, even with that in mind i still just don't understand bush's victory, or how people could actually believe in some of the things he supports. i am nervous to see what will happen in the next four years.
on that note it was decided (separately)by my swim team, english class and spanish class (and i suppose implicitly in bio, seeing as in studying inheritance we designated "dick" and "george" as the carriers of the stupidity gene [sorry if that offends anyone!]) that that california (or even the bay area) should just spit off and for its own little country, with gavin newsom as our president. san francisco could be like amsterdam, oh what fun. (oh which reminds me, the bill passed in oakland to make enforcement of busting cannabis the lowest priority for oakland police.)

today also sucked because:
-i HATE seeing one of my best friends sad! i just wish there were something i could do sometimes.
-it was raining. I hate this weather. especially when there is thunder and lightening, it freaks me out.
-i had to see a man put his foot in fire. i don't understand why someone would do that.
-fucking calc bc test tomorrow.

BUT, today had it's high points as well.
-mainly, the FRIENDSHIP DANCE. oh my god, so fabulous. i honestly can't see any other school getting in a big circle in their gym, holding hands and running around while watching some middle aged, slightly overwieght hispanic guy without a shirt on and a tiger mask jump about. i felt like i was at a bat mitzvah!
-i really was not in the mood for swimming again this afternoon. i get there, and practice is cancelled because of thunder and lightening! so i got to drive my freshman friend talia home! oh she is adorable. i've decided i shall take her under my wing and show her the ins and outs of high school!
-having a fabulous conversation with alex on the way back from school!
-not doing very much in class because everyone was so upset about the election. of course this doesn't change the fact that i have massive amounts of homework.

i can't believe we have like a week and a half of school before finals! next week is going to be insane. i have an apus test and apbio! plus a bunch of stuff in history to make up. oh man i cannot wait for thanksgiving break!

i heart gavin newsom. i think we can split into our own little country, and kick out my family. that'll be as fun as fun can be!

i love jessie brown

little one...guess what i did today LOOKED UP RENT TICKETS. so get this, i can get a discount on tickets from my dads work so if tickets are still available (eep!) we're going. and i may have to disown you know that i know that you participated in a friendship dance, im just too cool for you now :-p

on a different note, HOW THE HELL DID BUSH WIN?!?! it's so true that where we live affects our views of this whole election so much (woot for new york and the bay area). i just don't get how all the hicks can agree with the things he supports. my friend showed me this map of who voted for bush and kerry by county and almost the whole country was red(for bush) minus the major cities. it was crazy. i guess it goes to show how much the populated cities can swing a states vote. for example, pretty much all of new york minus nyc and long island were for bush, yet new yorks electoral votes went to kerry. christ i cant believe i just wrote all that...and that's coming from a girl who hates politics.

well jessie love, i should go finish my homework. i love you!

I loved the Friendship Dance, too. It was the only thing that could even begin to cheer me up after I heard the election results.
